Paintings & Illustrations by Maribeth Wright

About Me

Maribeth WrightSeveral years ago I donated a portrait of a rescue dog to an event to benefit our local shelter. Little did I know it would result in a new career direction of painting pet portraits. Since that time I have lost count of the pet portrait commissions I have done, and I never grow tired of meeting a new subject and hearing their story.

All of my life I have held an obsessive fascination for nature, particularly the animals that share our everyday life. They are a source of inspiration for my art and continue to be a huge part of my everyday existence. Many of my paintings use animal imagery as a way to connect with social issues through imaginary situations.

I grew up in a home where doing art was just a way of life and began painting at the age of 8 in my mother’s art studio.

After a career in graphic design, I am returning to my real love of painting and working out of my home studio, Barking At The Moon Studio.
